About Us

The Dog Athlete is the brainchild of a dog trainer who felt she could do a better job helping people get the most out of their dogs, and a husband who felt he could use his business expertise to help her do that.

There’s more to excelling in your chosen dog sports than having the right dog, right training methods, and right attitude. You also need to provide the right nutrition and conditioning for your dog! It seemed obvious that the web would be full of easily accessible and useful information about nutrition and conditioning, but we found that it was actually quite difficult to locate the needed information.

That’s why one of the goals of The Dog Athlete is to educate our consumers, so they better understand what our products offer, why they work, and what they may be able to do for your dog. A well-educated consumer is in a much better position to sort through the options available, and to select the highest quality products.

We only sell products we use and believe in. Our products have been tested on our dogs and on client dogs, and have clearly demonstrated their value. Products whose manufacturing standards and ingredients meet our high standards. Products which make sense based on the current state of research into canine nutrition and conditioning.
